SGS Specialist Techniques

SGS Deep Clean

At certain times of the year and depending on a variety of factors the condition of the surface could need more comprehensive maintenance with a deeper clean. SGS have invested heavily on the very latest machines that will help to revitalise these out of condition surfaces.

Conventional brush rows and drag mats are not suitable for thorough deep cleaning or de-compacting sand/rubber infilled sports surfaces SGS machinery employs a rotary brush and vacuum system that removes debris and the top layer of infill from the turf It then sifts the debris out with a unique vibratory shaker and re-distributes the clean infill into the turf.

Decompaction

Synthetic grass surfaces can become firm and heavily compacted after lengthy periods of regular usage and even when scheduled maintenance is done at infrequent intervals

This not only results in poor performance including the drainage but can make the surface unpleasant for users and potentially hazardous eventually leading to loss of revenue

SGS can revitalise compacted surfaces using their specialist equipment designed to revive carpet pile and enhance playing characteristics

This procedure can be employed on an ad-hoc basis or included as part of longer term maintenance programmes tailored to suit the requirements of a facility operator Please contact SGS for advice on this important service

Restoration

After years of play even with the most comprehensive maintenance program in place in certain circumstances pitches become clogged and choked This can be due to a variety of a factors including weather, location of the pitch and play intensity.

In some circumstances this can cause a pitch to drain poorly and a layer of film develops on the surface rendering it unplayable and dangerous This is the point when radical action is needed by either replacing the surface which may not fit into budgetary constraints or undertake a full SGS Restoration.

The Restoration process can re-instate sand or sand/rubber sports surfaces back to "like new" appearance and most importantly regain the original performance
SGS Restoration is a specially developed process using specialised machines to extract the dirty and contaminated sand/rubber from your pitch and replace with new clean sand/rubber.
