"Both myself and my 14 year old son are keen golfers and wanted to install a putting green which was both practical and aesthetically pleasing. (Remember Mrs Burnett had to be happy too!)
I had several companies survey the project with varying degrees of success. The options available ranged from grass installation companies who had never installed a putting green, to specialist golf / putting green installers who charge a premium for the same product.
SGS gave a competent assessment and offered what I deemed to be the best solution based on,

The initial photos don't really do justice to the surface. Once settled the green looks even better and we are really pleased. I had an additional piece of Putting Surface installed on my summerhouse floor which looks great. We have a golf bag full of putters in the there and the putting green proved great fun for all at a recent barbecue. From a purely golf point of view the pace and roll on the green are very good. I worked with your installation team getting the breaks that I wanted. I can practice left to right, right to left, flat and uphill putts so this is great as a practice area. The addition of kiln dried sand helps the pace as well as weighing down the surface. I purchased a chipping mat which also works well. The surface responds well to a chipped ball and provides another variation of shots to practice.
We have a constant flow of my sons friends and even my 17 year old daughter has been using it with her friends. It's been worth every penny so far and is meeting the expectations I had prior to installation.
I have found SGS a pleasure to work with. Your installation team should be congratulated for their efforts, especially clearing the site in unseasonally wet weather.
Mrs Vernart had an ongoing problem with weeds and drainage to we were able to install a comprehensive drainage system and anti-weed membrane - the standard for an SGS installation.
